Exactly the same as with organic food, organic cotton is grown with no chemicals and pesticides. This has enormous long term benefits for both the environment and the farmers. The environment where the cotton is grown comes back to life, the soil improves, insect and bird life return. The farmer no longer has to spend money on expensive chemicals and pesticides and thus the farmer’s families no longer have to risk sleeping in the same rooms as the chemicals or eating food that may have become contaminated having been grown next to the cotton.

Through a co-operative of over five thousand farmers our supplier guarantees that those farmers receive a premium for their crop. This not only enables the farmers to increase their basic standard of living but also enables them to plan for the future in the knowledge that there is a ready market for
their produce at a premium price. mudd & water indirectly contributes to the Rock of Hope charity whereby the supplier we work with donates 10% of its profits to the local villages it works with. This has enabled the villages to now obtain previously unavailable fresh running water through a pipe system and a school is also presently under construction.
